But until you sign up, here are a few general ideas to help kickstart your weekend and to see what RelayPlay is all about.
Every done a boxing class? Try a challenging, outdoor workout at The BXING Club event Saturday morning at Waterfront Park that is only $10 to join, but make sure you sign up early to reserve a bag.
Or you can head over to Seaport Village’s Balcony Concert at Mike Hess Brewing which starts at 10am. The concert is free and has a great view of the bay.
Later that evening, you can check out the San Diego opera. They have several drive-in shows starting this weekend at the Pechanga Arena, and I doubt there will be many more moments in life to see drive-in performances like this. Their last drive-in, La bohème, was so successful, selling out most performances and drawing more than 4,200 attendees, that they are once again returning to Pechanga for their Spring drive-in Season.
If you are looking for a laugh, check out Comedy and Jazz night at the Quartyard in downtown this Saturday. The headliner is Chris Fairbanks, and he is very underrated!! He’s hilarious, I got to see one of his live shows before the pandemic and not only is he funny but he’s insanely sweet. Make sure to buy your tickets before they sell out.
For Sunday, head out for a nice hike that is also pet friendly. I highly recommend the Penasquitos Canyon Preserve. It is a beautiful, open, and mostly flat hike. It has minimal cover over most of the trail, but you can cool off near the Penasquitos Creek Waterfall. Here is a great link to make sure you can find the waterfall before you go...
Enjoy the weekend!
