Come celebrate California spiny lobster season at the docks!
Come down for a special SUNDAY edition of Tuna Harbor Dockside Market! Several local lobstermen will be selling LIVE local California spiny lobster direct to you at off-the-boat prices! They’ll also be sharing their families’ favorite, easy recipes that you can make at home with your family!
“Meeting your local fishermen at the docks, knowing where your food comes from and supporting your local producers is what this season is all about,” said San Diego commercial fisherman, Dan Major. While most California spiny lobsters are normally exported, this year’s food system challenges and local need have inspired our lobstermen to make this delicious seasonal specialty available to San Diegans.
Local chef advocates, Chef Phillip Esteban and Chef Marcus Twilegar of Craft Meals will be serving up some amazing spiny lobster dishes! Stay tuned for the menu as we get closer!
As usual at the market, public health and distancing guidelines will be strictly enforced, including limits to the number of people on the pier at one time, to ensure your safety and the safety of our fishermen. So, please bring your masks, your coolers, and your patience as we safely celebrate the start of spiny lobster season!
