Play tourist for the day and explore The Crown City by bike.  You won’t be disappointed by the gorgeous views, stunning homes, and the roar of the Navy planes cruising overhead.  Start by renting a bike or specialty cycle at Wheel Fun rentals located inside the iconic Hotel del Coronado.  Try out a double bike or four-person surrey for some added adventure (they are way harder than they look)!  Follow this 6-mile route to take in all the island has to offer: exit The Del and head north along the Glorietta Bay, under the San Diego-Coronado Bridge, and to the Coronado Ferry Landing. The Ferry Landing is a great spot to stop for a bite to eat and enjoy the view of downtown San Diego. For a quick, delicious stop check out Tartine, a European style cafe, for a coffee and a light meal.  Or for a waterfront, tropical vibe grab a seat on the patio at Peohe’s and enjoy the view of Downtown San Diego across the bay.  From there, continue northwest along 1st Avenue and turn left on Alameda. Alameda merges into Ocean, which will take you back to the Hotel del Coronado.  After you return your bike take a walk on Orange Avenue to check out local shops, art galleries, and restaurants.  Do not miss a stop at Mootime Creamery for hand-crafted, nostalgic ice cream.  The line out the door is well worth it and you’ve earned it after your ride!
